The Benefits of Call Tracking to SEO Providers

Phone call tracking for companies from the point of view of the SEO provider can act as a valuable tool in indicating to a business the true revenue being generated from organic search. Without call tracking, it is impossible to discern calls generated from a company’s organic listing from calls generated by other areas of advertising. Call tracking deals with this problem in one simple way.

Some call tracking software can dynamically alter the telephone number displayed in an organic search listing into a unique number, and connect a customer through the call tracking system to the company sales team in a manner totally unobtrusive to either party. The call tracking software records the call, which appears as a discrete entry, identifiable as a call from an organic listings link telephone number that was made offline. This is to distinguish the call from a call made from a PPC ad, an e-mail, etc.. The data from the call can then be integrated with systems such as Google Analytics to be used to better research the company’s interaction with the customer. This data has hitherto been a medium impossible to integrate into interpretable data in this field, whereas with call tracking, a great deal of information can be obtained and used to further the SEO for a business’ website.

Research (ComScore) shows that 63% of customers visiting a website purchasing an item related to a specific keyword are made offline, and so the gap in knowledge of this type of customer’s purchase and contact with the company is closed with the advent of call tracking. This service therefore provides a very competitive edge to the profile of any SEO, and though the technology is relatively new, companies will surely be increasingly more confident in using call tracking to identify the efficiency of other areas of their marketing strategy such as print advertising, e-mails etc., whose numbers can be further integrated. This is certainly the case for PPC Avertisers, as a recent article (fathomseo.com) has shown. There is increasing pressure for SEOs to account for the ROI achieved by their work, and call tracking provides conclusive evidence of the success of any SEOs work to improve a company’s sale.

What is a great indicator for the business itself of growth is at the same time turned into an indicator of the value of SEO work on organic searches, as with call tracking one can prove that conversions have occurred specifically from these organic search results. The resultant confidence a company can have in evidence of this SEO work is conclusive, and distinguishable from other sales revenue that was formerly grouped together before call tracking. The generation of a unique telephone number is offered by only a select few call tracking software producers, yet as an analytical tool, it is powerful in its ability to further explore the nature of offline calls researched online, a formerly closed-off area of market research and advertising optimization. Integrated SEO call tracking looks soon to be a requirement of a company’s SEM strategy.

Should I Use A Robots.txt File

Should I Be Using A Robots.txt File

To decide weather or not you need to use a robots.txt you need to understand its purposes and uses before setting one up.

Robots and crawlers like the googlebot visit your site daily to check for new content amongst other things, one of thing you can use the robots.txt file for is to control what pages you don’t want the robots to crawl/index. The robots.txt file has been around for some time so it has become standard for bots to look for the file when they visit your site, you should always put the robots file in your root folder as the bots tend to add the word robots.txt to the end of your url to find it.

Using a robots.txt file can help prevent duplicate content issues and keep private information from appearing in the google results pages. Even if you don’t post duplicate content the chances are google will find another way of finding it for example lets say your homepage is at directorysubmissions.eu it will class directorysubmissions.eu/index.php and directorysubmissions.eu/home.php as duplicate content as they are different urls but display the same content.

There are several ways you can tell google to ignore certain pages and one of the best ways is by using a robots.txt file, you can specify what each search engine bot does when they visit your site or you can set a global command for all the search engines to follow.

The duplicate content issue can be a big problem for some sites so its best to try get on top of it before it becomes a problem. I have written out an example of what your robots.txt file should look like.

user-agent: Googlebot disallow: /mysite/test.php You can use the disallow command to prevent google from indexing directories or particular pages. By changing the user agent to another name you will be stating what that bot should do when it visits your website, you can do as many commands as you like for as many bots as you like so for examples;

user-agent: MSN disallow: /mysite/test.php

user-agent: Googlebot disallow: /mysite/test.php

user-agent: Yahoo

disallow: /mysite/test.php

Promoting your blog posts with seo

Its important to write fresh content for your website daily if you want the likes of google to visit your website on a regular basis. Google tends to favor websites that post good quality content regularly, blogging is a good and effective way to write new articles and easily publish them on your website. One thing that is commonly known about blogging is its potential to attract hundreds of visitors which can either help increase sales or gain more exposure.

People tend to think that once they have published there article they dont need to do anything else. Well posting the article is just the start, even if you have optimized your article you may receive traffic for the odd keyword but for your article to become successful and seen as an authority site you need to get your articles ranked highly in google.

I'm sure your already familiar with link building and have probably spent some time promoting your main site, when you link build its best to build links to a variety of pages evenly rather than just your homepage as google will class that as un-natural link building. By promoting your blog posts you will be building links in a more natural way and will benefit your website in the long run i.e pagerank. If you want a website with high pagerank on all your pages then the one thing you will need to definitely do is link build to all your pages from good quality websites.

When I have finished writing a new article I have a set procedure for promoting that page which I have developed over time. When people think about link building they tend to think its a big task and will take along time so they either buy poor quality software or get any type of link they can get there hands on. Link building can be made easy from experience and other peoples experiences, there are some methods to link building which can be accomplished quickly and easily but there are other methods which require abit of you time.

The easiest way to promote an article is to submit it to the social bookmark sites as they produce instant links and targeted traffic for a short period of time. If you use a wordpress blog then there are alot of widgets which you can use that will add a link to submit your posts to the social bookmarking sites at the bottom of each page. There are hundreds of social bookmarking sites and there probably the most easiest sites to gain links from so this should be your first port of call when link building.

I would then start writing variations of the article or brief examples of it to submit to free article marketing sites with several links pointing back to my article. There is a unique network with over 12,000 website owners looking for good unique content everyday so article marketing has been made a hell of allot easier. With this network you are able to build good quality inbound links without doing any-work, I have noticed an increase in traffic and links since I have been using the service. The good thing about this network is if you don't like it within the first 30 days you can cancel your membership and get a full refund with no questions asked.

Learn the Basic’s of SEO

Have you been trying to work for quite a while are still quite baffled about SEO (search engine optimization) this this article is perfect for you.  In this article, we will explore  how you can use it effectively, and what you need to do to ensure you don’t get your site booted by the search engines.

(First, you  may want to take a look here:, Conquest Authority is an online training product that will go over SEO in full detail, but for starters, you should begin here.)

As stated above, SEO stands for search engine optimization. The biggest question new online marketers have is what is a search engine? I know this is extremely basic, but this is where you must start.  Once you learn the absolute basics, when you begin to discover more on the topic of SEO, you will have a full grasp of exactly what it is.

All a search engine is, is a place you go when you are looking for a direct subject online. In example, Google, Yahoo, MSN, Ask, etc. Those sites are all search engines. When you are looking for an answer on the internet, you go to a search engine, type in the keywords you are searching for, and presto! The search engine “searches” the web for you and brings up a page of all the sites online that are relevant to your keywords.

Now you know what a search engine is, and you know what SEO is, let me get into the meat of things and explain how SEO works.

The most important thing you should do before any optimization, is you must determine the targeted keywords you will use for your site. To be more specific, finding the terms you want your site ranked for with the search engines. An example of this would be:

You have a website about fixing computers. People who are looking for information about repairing their computers might search for these phrases: what’s wrong with my computer, what does a blue screen on a computer mean, or where can I get my computer fixed. These would all be considered long tail keywords, and these are what you would want to target, because they are the actual terms that people search the search engines for.

Be aware when deciding on your keywords or key phrases, they are real terms that get looked for, otherwise you will get no traffic. (Another tip is to be sure you pick keywords that don’t have lots of other websites targeting them. You may still never get traffic if there is too many sites competing.) I highly recommend using a keyword research tool to really find some hidden ones. You can use Google’s free keyword tool, or Wordtracker’s free tool if money is an issue. They are perfect starter tools, and they do the job just fine. Once you start making some money, I really do recommend you get a paid tool because they are so much more effective, and you can really find some good keywords.

Here you can read more about finding good keywords here.

Okay, now that you have your keywords, the next step is to be sure your site is optimized for those keywords. So how can you do this? It’s pretty simple really.

The first rule is always make the title of your page or post (if it’s a blog) isthe exact key phrase or word you are targeting. This is known as your title tag. Title tags have a huge influence on the search engines when they visit your site, so whatever your title is, the search engines will assume it is a keyword and you want to rank for it. This goes for your domain name as well. Your page/post title and your website title (domain name) are very big factors in the SEO world.

aAfter you have purchased your domain (known as the URL), and you have chosen your targeted key phrases or words, the next phase is to add content to your website or blog. Write an article that is at least 400-500 words, and don’t forget to include your targeted keywords or phrases at least 2-3 times in the content. Be careful not to go overboard with this, or you can get penalized. Keepin in mind the keyword density is not over 7% (amount of keywords vs. actual words on page). Staying below 6-7% is much better. If you go over this recommended safety net, the search engines may see you as “keyword stuffing”. Keyword stuffing means using your keywords too many times in one page, and your site will pay for it if you do that, I promise.

The longer the page and content, the better chance you have of being able to get all your keywords in and not make it look like you are keyword stuffing. In other words, keep your posts and pages long, and you can get all your keywords in. Search engines favor long text articles and unique content.

Do not worry about getting every keyword phrase in your article multiple times, because the search engines are smart, and if you have a quality site, Google will rank you for keywords you never even thought to rank for. The highest goal is sticking your main phrase in 2-3 times, and the others at least once.

There ya go!  That’s SEO in a nutshell. Teach yourself as much information as you can about the subject, because it truly will benefit you in the long run.  To learn SEO takes some time, but soon enough you’ll be an SEO pro.

SEO Secrets: Tips on Inbound Linking

Almost all seo services agree that SEO or Search Engine Optimization to give it it’s full and glorious title, is all about off page optimization, which is almost 80% in fact. What does all that mean?

Actually, what it means is that Google really judges your site, less by what the professional website design is, but more from what sites are linking to you. It is those inbound links that are all so important. Of course, unique keyword focused content on your page is important, but ‘tweaks’ on YOUR site will not make much difference. So, inbound links are an important part of the equation. Got that? Good. But one word of warning, well, two actually.

There are so many ways of getting tens of thousands of inbound links, literally overnight. Google will probably discount these or even worse, penalize your site if it thinks you are trying to ’spam’ the index. Better to be safe and do it all nice and legal.

My other tip is to make sure that you vary the wording of your inbound links. you don’t want every one named ‘TARGET KEYWORD’ and nothing else. It’s unnatural plus Google will see to its disguise. So, with those two pearls of wisdom firmly planted away, here are my top SEO Secrets of gaining inbound links with your various keyword targeted hyperlinks:

1. Write articles and submit to the likes of EzineArticles. These wonderful people here will get your article distributed to most of the main article directories. In the resource box you can have 2 or 3 keyword links. Other sites will go on to publish these articles and before you know it, you will have so many links coming from all over the web, from, importantly, theme related web-sites.

2. Blog and blog often. In your blog articles, insert hyper-linked keywords to your target page. Then publish a RSS feed and make sure you publish that in as many places as you can find. Feedagg is a good place to start.. Again, same principle, other blogs will pick up your RSS feed and publish.

3. Directory Submissions - To be frank, I wouldn’t spend a lot of time on this but it’s still a fairly quick way to get a few links out there.. I don’t think Google places a massive importance on directory links and I certainly wouldn’t pay for a listing, unless I was in a very tight niche and I knew that the directory could provide traffic and not just the link. I do use a directory submission service myself and I can vouch for them, they are pretty reliable..They also have a few other worthwhile offers.

4. Social Bookmarking - I know they are cumbersome but Google loves social bookmarking sites. If Google likes them, so do we. Start off at socialmarker and then Digg from there. If you’re serious then I suggest you use some sort of automated bookmarking solution, these are the people I use and they are the best in the business.

5. Forum Posting - Never underestimate the power of forum posting. You can get a great return on investment, especially if you post in relevant and on topic forums. If you spice up your forum signature with an enticing offer then not only will you gain inbound links, you will also score quite a few interested visitors.

6. Fruity Plugins - This is just one of those ‘must haves’ you should have on your Wordpress blog. The way it works is that your visitors automatically generate inbound links and unique content for you. Incredible, but true. The more visitors you have, the more inbound links and content you receive.. Then those links and content go on to get your more visitors who then…I think you get the idea…

7. Videos - Create a video, post it to as many video directories as you can. Don’t forget to include a hyperlink to your site in the description and the video itself, preferably throughout. Google loves video. The only downside is that video submission can take forever. These people solve that.

So, there you have it. Of course, there are many other ways to get inbound links, but these 7 are definitely my favorites and if you follow the steps correctly, you will surely find great results. Some good methods include software creation and affiliate marketing i.e. affiliates linking to you, but I thought those outside of the scope of this book. You can also outsource many of these tasks but as always, look for reputation and check testimonials before you purchase. Good luck on your linking journey! By the way, if you haven’t guessed it by now,

How To Get Ranked For Your Easier Terms Quickly

How You Can Get Your Website Ranked For Your Easier Terms

This is a guide on how you can promote your website and get it ranked within the top 3 positions for your less competitive keywords at no cost what so ever. We will be using free methods to promote your links and promote your keyterms. All website owners have a bunch of keywords that they would like to get ranked number one for, some keywords are less competitive than others so what I suggest doing is if you haven’t got the time to promote your most competitive keywords then I would use an seo company to do that for you. I am going to teach you how to get your less competitive keywords ranked highly in google in the shortest period of time.

Lets assume you already have your list of keywords and have filtered out the most competitive ones and your now left with the least competitive ones. The first thing you must do before building any inbound links is to make sure your webpage has been optimized on-site for your keywords. The main places that comes to mind for best on-site optimization is the titles, on-page links, meta tags, alt tags, title tags and the main content itself, its best to add your keywords several times to the top section of your content as google only collects a certain amount of data from your site and if you have lots of content on that page then the googlebot will not make it to the bottom of your page.

Once you have completed your on-site optimization you then need some good quality inbound links from sites that have pagerank and/or relate to your websites content. One of the best places to start is with social bookmarking, you should submit your sites pages to websites like digg.com or reddit.com with your keywords as the title, google crawls most social bookmarking sites all the time so it will come across those links the quickest. The next best place to start submitting your site to is general website directories as there are allot of them around and finding good ones can be easy, one of my favorite free website directories is called backlinkbuilder.co.uk and by submitting your site to thousands of website directories you should start to see your submissions approved within a few weeks. Directory submissions are great for SEO as there are such a vast amount of them to submit to making link building a bit easier, however I wouldn’t rely on directories to send you traffic as thats not what there known for anymore.

Just by submitting your website to social bookmarking sites and directories you will start to notice some positive results in the search engines, you can always try article submissions to help promote your keyterms aswel.

Looking For Top SEO Services? - Things to Check when Consulting SEO services

Where and how do you start? I think the obvious answer to that is Google, because as per Google page 1 accounts for 50% of ALL web traffic for any niche or keyword, so then, we can assume that any SEO service which is NOT on page 1 in Google, even if their sites have great web design for ‘top SEO services‘ is obviously not a top SEO service. Physician, first heal thyself and all that.

The second step is to define your search criteria. We’ve already decided that they need to be on page 1 of Google, but what else? I think there are a number of things you should consider and spend some time thinking about, including:

Experience - Have you ever thought about how many years of experience they had, concerning SEO services? How long have they been active and online? Only those who have been around a while truly know the cycles and what to watch out for and then do when the icebergs next approach (in the shape of a Google shakedown).

Guarantees - What sort of guarantee do they offer? Do they even offer any at all? Is it wishy washy? Do they promise you Page 1, even #1 listings on Google? Do you get your money back if ever things don’t go well? Do they only charge when they succeed? A lot of them willl say they cannot guarantee because they reason out that Google is uncontrollable. Without labouring the point, top SEO services do not have that worry.

Keyword Research - Do they tell you the importance of keyword research? If they just brag about how many directory links or social bookmarks they will do each month then they and you, will, most likely, be missing a fundamental point. In fact, probably the most important one of all. Keyword research is a highly important and beneficial way of getting more web traffic and more importantly the right traffic.

Access - Can you get access to the person in charge? Quickly? When things are not doing well, you need answers and quick. Is the main ‘man’ available to you at a moment’s notice? Or do you have to wait days for a response from an email or response on a forum.

Pricing - Are they too cheap? Always keep in mind that you pay for what you get! A warning for buyers. Inexperience is rampant out there and a cheap price is always a pretty good indicative sign of that inexperience. If they don’t charge enough then it normally means they rely too much on automation or even worse, they will end up not doing their part of the bargain.

Ultimately when looking and then choosing top SEO services. don’t be afraid to ask questions and DEMAND results. If they can’t provide sufficient guarantees of those results then I suggest there will be better alternatives out there..

SEO Secrets - The Importance of Off Page Optimization

Alright, by now you must’ve realized how your organic SEO services affects the future of your business. You may have tried using Adwords for a while and after your credit card have run out of juice, you feel something needs to be done.

Don’t get me wrong, AdWords can be a fine tool, I use it for testing all the time but to actually try and make a return on the capital invested is more difficult than it seems. Very often the pricing of each click is based on the LIFETIME value of the potential customer, sometimes more than that, especially when ego or inexperience gets involved.

Anyway, it doesn’t really matter how you arrived at the decision to go ‘natural’ or ‘organic’, I’m just glad that you did. Because it’s the right thing to do. Organic search results are a good bargain, because once you have gained that coveted Google page 1 listing then all the clicks that you receive from then on are free. You’re guaranteed to make a profit!

Unless your website design is so bad that no one visits or buys anything is a different story. Let’s assume that you’re selling a product that somebody might buy, then you MUST make a profit. BUT, and it is a pretty big but, it all depends on how much it costs you to obtain that page 1 listing in the first place.

Spend your money foolishly, either by trying to do it yourself, when you should be spending your time on other aspects of your business, or even worse, employing someone to do it for you and those people then not knowing what they should be doing..

Even scarier still is that these people use ‘black hat’ or outlawed SEO techniques and your site simply disappears from Google, overnight.

It’s happened to me and I know just what a horrible moment that is when it dawns on you that you’ve been wiped. So, don’t let that happen to you. If you’re going to do it on your own, don’t look the easier and faster way.

If it looks unreal then it probably is. Realistically, unless you are a SEO expert then I suggest that you either follow the excellent course here or outsource your SEO work, which are two smart things to do. To a trusted, proven party. After all, when my car goes wrong, I don’t try messing with it, I’ll have the local mechanic repair it.

It’s his job to keep up to date with all the latest SEO techniques and solutions. So it is with any SEO expert. It’s their job to figure out what would work or not.

Their job is to invest as little time as possible to get you the best return. They know if what they do works, they will get repeat business.

More keywords, more results, more keywords.. A win win situation for all.

I guess I took a long time to get to the subject but I felt it important to paint a decent backdrop.. You see, if you think SEO is simply a matter of tweaking a little bit of HTML code on a page then I am sorry, you are wrong. On page factors, such as the correct H1 and H2 tags, correct meta descriptions and titles and other factors such as on page keyword density account for less than 20% of the overall Google ranking algorithm.

Yes, they are important and can be the only difference between you and a rival site, but if that is all you’re changing, then you can tweak until the cows come home, Google will think no more of your site no matter how good your on page tweaking is.

THE SEXY SEO SECRET IS:

80% off page

Always remember that, it’s very important.
