Don’t panic – I’m not going to talk about a real dead mouse.  Rather, the mouse for my laptop died and I found myself for the first time using my touch pad.  After about ten minutes, I decided that I didn’t really care about the touch pad – what I needed was a wireless laptop mouse.

I did a quick search for a wireless mouse at a number of computer retailer’s websites, but I found it really hard to compare prices.  Trying to flip windows and keep track of what was going on was just about impossible, I needed a better place to find the answers I needed.

Thankfully, after a quick search, I found a lens on Squidoo called laptop accessories clearance – that had all the deals I was looking for, all in one spot.  After a couple of clicks, I was able to order a wireless mouse (at a great price), pay for it, and get it shipped to me. 

Man that was easy.

Have you ever had a toilet where it just trickles water into the tank all night long?  Well, I did this week, and it was driving me nuts.  Unfortunately for me, my bedroom is right beside the bathroom, and that is all I could hear.

Three days with no sleep definitely gives you the resolve to fix a continuously running toilet.  Now, I could have called a plumber, but I figured that it had to be something really simple.

I looked online for a good home plumbing repair website that would have step by step instructions on how to fix the toilet and I managed to find one.

After a quick trip to the hardware store, I was able to fix the toilet by myself.  Let me tell you – if being a plumber is as easy as the job was today, maybe it is time for me to change careers.

Today, I decided that I would check out Squidoo.  I have been talking to lots of my friends and I have been told what a valuable information resource it is.  So I thought that I would prove it to myself and try and find something that I was interested in.

I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to learn about what a free link directory is.  I have seen on many forums that a directory is a good place to list your website information, and I just didn’t really understand how that worked.

Thankfully, someone had created a free link directory lens that had all the information I was looking for.  Maybe this Squidoo is as good as they say…. the first impression is sure promising.

While I was at work today, I was unable to access My Space from my computer.  You see, the free proxy server was offline today, so I tried to find another way that I could access the site.  After searching for a few sites with little success, I tried the "bypass school filter" site that a colleague suggested I use – and it worked okay.

But I was looking for something that worked well specifically for My Space.  You see, the computers at work have that site filtered out because of one employee that was spending more time on it than his work.  But for my, I just need to check on my profile once or twice during the day – and I make sure to get my work done.

After a bit of searching, I was able to find a Myspace proxy site and it works great.  You should check it out too.
