The Chance of a Lifetime

It was a rare opportunity, one that I knew would probably never come up again as long as I lived, and one that I knew I could not say no to.  I was offered the chance to travel with a professor of anthropology, to Africa for a year to study one of the tribes there that very little was known about.

It was not a tough decision as it was something that I had wanted to do ever since the day that I decided I was going to become an anthropologist.  It wasn’t something that I expected to do at my young age and I felt very blessed to have the opportunity to do so.  It was a one in a million chance of a lifetime and I knew that my life would be very fulfilled because of it.

Shortly after the offer, all of my belongings were in public storage Philadelphia and I was ready to embark on the most incredible journey that I knew I would ever take in my lifetime.  I was not disappointed and I know that it is an experience I will never forget as they both made me grow as an anthropologist and as a person.

Doing Research

When I left high school, I thought that I would never have to do homework again.  Well, I guess I thought wrong.

For those of you out there who haven’t figured it out yet, when you have kids, you will eventually have to do homework.  Sure, you don’t have to do all the work anymore, but rather it is like you are a tutor helping your child.

For example, my son is doing a report on world destinations that he wants to travel to.  Now, except for Disneyland, he really didn’t have any ideas.  So we went to the library and took out some worldwide travel guides to help inspire him.

Now, all he has to do is decide where he wants to go, and we will have to do a write up.  We have a few more days to get it done, so I have told him that he needs to get working on it.  So much for getting away from homework…

Going Over Training Materials

I have been going over the training materials that we have received for use in our tutoring center.  Our center covers many different levels of education, and we help students excel at school.  This is a service that I have setup many years ago, and it has been a very good business venture for us.

Each year at about this time, we order our GCSE coursework training materials for the fall.  It gives us the time to get familiarized with any changes in the curriculum and practice those subjects that we need to catch up on.  Sure, most things don’t change, but many subjects such as science have subtle changes each year.

We have also ordered A Level Coursework as we are going to start to offer that as a part of our coursework training program for students.  It will be nice to do something different for a change instead of just teaching the same thing each year.

Looking for a Legitimate Degree Program Online

I can remember about a year ago when I was reading in the paper about the companies online that would sell you a fake degree for around $100.  They were talking about the dire consequences of people that have fake degrees getting into life critical jobs under the fraudulent application process.

So when it was time for me to go back to school, I knew I had to make sure that I was studying am going to receive an accredited online college degree.  This requires a little bit or research to find but I didn’t want to get scammed.

I was able to find an accredited school that offered online bachelors degree as well as health care degrees online.  From what I’ve read, they offer pretty much everything that a regular school does but they don’t require you to go classes at a particular time during the day.

I have sent a request for more information and am looking forward to hear back from them.

Looking for an Internship

Instead of going to school next fall, I’ve decided that I’m going to get into an internship program and get a year of work experience in the field of computer science.  In some respects, the selection of internship positions for my type of degree revolve around programming.  Even though I do alright at programming, my real passion is human computer interaction and I’m hoping to get into an internship program that focuses on design.

Looking through companies that offer internship programs, I was able to find a New York web designer that was looking for someone to work on their team in creating outstanding websites.  I feel that that would be the perfect internship for me, and I made the point of going there in person to talk to him face to face.

I think my actions spoke louder than any other application that was submitted and I have been assured that I will be able to do my internship there.  It starts in a few short weeks and I just can’t wait to have a different pace compared to my current college life.

Getting Prepared

I am in my third year of college and I realize that I have at least another year left before I have to start working on my dissertation, but I have been thinking a lot about it already as I don’t think that one can never be too prepared when the time comes.

In fact, every time I write an essay I wonder how I can utilize this information in later years and I think it will help prepare me for my postgraduate studies.  I have always been the type of person that stays one step ahead of the rest, as I don’t know how I could function otherwise.

I already know exactly what I’m going to write a thesis about and I have already started gathering information on the topic.  I actually enjoy doing the research already and I don’t think it is really going to be all that tough when the time comes.

Completing My Thesis

The past term in school has been a little bit of a change for me.  You see, I’ve been working on my graduate studies and instead of writing many dissertations, I’ve only been writing one paper the whole last term.

It has been quite a change for me that started with me creating a research proposal and has resulted in page after page of writing as I work to complete my thesis.  Sure, I do have two years to get it done, but I would rather get it done early than working on it with no pay when it is late.

After finally getting consistent results from the trials that I was doing for the experiments, writing a paper was time-consuming, but not hard.  It was nice to have some good discussions with my supervisor as I tried to interpret the results of my studies.

I think that I will be done writing earlier than my due date which will give me extra time to revise the paper before submitting it.  This way, I should be able to get an excellent mark.

Passing on Purchasing an Essay

I recently was offered a coupon from a website where you could buy essays and I had to decline.  You see, a good friend of mine had bought essays last term and she found herself expelled just a few days after buying those essays.  I just didn’t want to end up like that, as both my parents and myself are counting on me doing well in college.

I did the next best thing to buying an essay was going over to the essay assistance center on campus in getting the help I needed to make my psychology essay an exceptional piece of work.

At the essay assistance center, they were able help improve my writing skills as well as give me suggestions as to what I could do turn up with a killer essay for class.

Was it worth the time?  You bet.

Stolen Papers

A couple of years back, while attending college, I can remember one interesting class.  You see, it was an English class where the first thing the professor said in front of the class was this:

"I am sad to report that all of your research papers have been stolen."

What?

We’ll as it turns out, someone broke into the professor’s office, took the term papers and ran off into the night.

So the professor told us we had to resubmit a termpaper by the following week.  Unfortunately for me, I deleted it off my computer, so I had to rewrite the essay from scratch.

I learned a valuable lesson that day: keep copies of all your papers until the term is over just in case something like this happen.  Strangely enough, a similar thing would happen two years later - at least I was prepared that time.

Student for Life

I think that I would make a good student for life.  I have always enjoyed school since the day I started preschool, and that certainly didn’t change when I entered university.  There is nothing I love more than dissertation writing and studying for exams.  It might be, because I have never found any of these very challenging and it all seems to come very easy to me.

In one of my psychology classes we are discussing the ethics of going out to buy research papers.  Of course the professor did not agree that this was ethical, but it got me to thinking about the pros and cons of doing something like this.

I would never do this because I do not have to.  I have never struggled in school but there are many students really get a lot further ahead if custom research papers were made available to them.  I don’t really think it is unethical to do whatever you have to in order to get a good education.
