Ready For Windows Phone 7 Apps?
Windows Phone 7 is here and what everyone has wanted to know, since the first showing in Barcelona, is how the app system will hold up to the competitors on the market namely Google Android and of course the Iphone. Windows Phone 7 apps are totally different from any previous versions of Windows Mobile, which means they are not directly compatible. To be honest, that was probably a smart choice by Microsoft even if developers will know have to adapt. Microsoft delivered a great OS in Microsoft Windows 7 replacing Windows Vista with an operating system that both looked and fealt great. With the new launch, Microsoft has finally picked up the glove in the mobile OS market and things are looking great.
What a lot of people want to know is how the Windows Phone 7 Apps system will work out? To be honest, these apps have the potential to be real iPhone killers. They just look so darn good. Microsoft has definitely delivered.
There are many reasons to be excited for the future of Windows Phone 7 apps. One nifty feature is that the apps are shown as ‘live’ tiles, meaning that they will continue to show content while in their minimized form and they look great. The main interface that makes up the apps is centered around hubs, for example ‘office’, ‘pictures’,'games’ and so on. You could call this the main hubs if you will. There’s also the ‘People’ hub which is great for checking up on what your friends are doing. You can actually see all of your social networking news on just one screen, probably the most innovative social media creation for a mobile phone. The apps are unrestricted by screen size, which means you can zoom in and out and pan across them, allowing for a much more enjoyable and flexible use.
Last, the games section is looking very promising. Just the mention of ‘X-Box’ is probably going to make a lot of people take note. Windows Phone 7 integrates with X-Box Live, so there is plenty of promise for games. As the Windows apps are made primarily with Silverlight, the graphics should really be outstanding.
