Get Gardening Supplies
Before you begin any garden, you have to make sure you have the right supplies. If you start digging up your yard and find out that you need a garden hoe to do this and a trowel to do that and you dont have those tools, you will be stuck with an ugly yard and nothing to do. Before you start anything, you need to be prepared.
Go through the gardening process to figure out what you need. You need to first cultivate the plot of land and prepare the soil. You will need a tiller to break up the soil. You can get a motorized one, but they are pretty expensive.
If you can’t afford a tiller, there are several replacement tools to choose from that are less expensive. You will need a shovel for digging, but you should also get a pickax to break up the tough grass and rocky ground. A garden hoe will help you break up the rest of the smaller clumps.
A garden hoe is a small tool that you can use to chop of the leftover chunks and break up the remaining grass and roots. A cultivator will help you by raking out the rocks and other chunks of stuff you don’t want.
When your ready to break out the plants and seeds, you will need smaller hand tools. A trowel is simply a small shovel and can be used for transplanting, weeding, etc. You will find yourself using it a lot. Cultivators can also be bought in a hand size.
When your plants begin to grow, you will need to prune them every once and a while. Shears will work well for this especially for bushes. You can use them to keep bushes from over growing and keep them healthy.
You will also find some other supplies and tools helpful such as a gardening hose, circle hoe, wheelbarrow, soil, fertilizer, soil tester, etc. A watering can should be used only for smaller gardens.
If you want a beautiful garden all season, use these tools along with a little hard work to keep your garden in tip top shape. Don’t let it get out of hand. Let the tools help you!
